* 01 sep 2009, Release of CRK v.2.4.37.5-rh73 i386,
     crash24375-rh73-isolinux.iso is based upon the RedHat 7.3
     (Valhalla) i386 Linux distribution. The kernel is patched with
     linux-2.4.37.5-e1000e.patch.bz2, based on the Official Intel driver ,
     e1000e-0.5.11.2, for Intel(R) PRO/1000 PCI-Express Gigabit
     Ethernet cards. This driver, e1000e.o works e.g. with the Dual
     Intel® 82574L PCIe Gigabit card. linux-2.4.37.5-e1000e.patch.bz2
     is adjusted to compile with gcc-2.95.3. In addition the 3w-9xxx.o
     driver, 3w-9xxx-linux-src-2.4-9.5.1.tgz, has been added, which
     supports the 3Ware 9690SA SAS/SATA PCIe controller.
     RedHat 7.3 was added as runtime, for its stability. This CRK can
     be secured with a password and has support for DNS nameservers inside
     /etc/resolv.conf.

* 18 may 2005, Release of CRK v.2.6.11.10-mdk101 i586,
     crash261110-mdk101.iso is based upon the Mandrake 10.1 (Official)
     i586 Linux distribution. The kernel is patched with
     2.6.11-libata-dev1.patch.bz2 for S.M.A.R.T. smartmontool support for use
     with SATA drives. The sk98lin driver which today covers an uncountable
     number of different affordable 1000Mbit Ethernet devices is patched
     with sk98lin_v8.16.2.3_2.6.11.10_patch.bz2 from www.marvell.com.

     with SATA drives. The sk98lin driver which today covers an uncountable
     number of different affordable 1000Mbit Ethernet devices is patched
     with sk98lin_v8.16.2.3_2.6.11.10_patch.bz2 from www.marvell.com.

* 15 july 2004, Release of CRK v.2.6.7-mdk100 x86_64, crash267-mdk100.x86_64.iso
     is based upon the Mandrake 10.0 (Official) AMD64 Linux distribution.
     The kernel is patched for Adaptec zerochannel i2o RAID controller support,
     on the x86_64/AMD64 platform. see http://i2o.shadowconnect.com/.
     This release is basicly the same as CRK v.2.6.7-mdk100 i586 edition.

*  7 july 2004, Release of CRK v.2.6.7-mdk100, crash247-mdk100.iso is
     based upon the Mandrake 10.0 (Official) i586 Linux distribution. The ram
     filesystem for the mdk100 edition is 24 Mb and now needs at least 32 ram
     to boot. The Logical Volume Manager (LVM2) administration tools and the
     NTFS driver v2.1.14 and ntfsprogs-1.9.2-1 have been added. In addition
     CD/DVD Burning support is added, using the OSS DVD version of
     cdrtools-2.01a27 and growisofs v5.17. Next to mounting remote NFS shares
     also remote CIFS SMB Samba or Windows folders can be mounted for
     backup over the network. The boot method is changed to isolinux
     (see below). The kernel 2.6.7 is configured to use the so-called
     Preemptible scheduler profile. For more info check the HOWTO-267.iso.

*  3 july 2004, Updated Release of CRK v.2.4.24-mdk92,
     crash2424-mdk92-isolinux.iso is the same as crash2424-mdk92.iso except
     it is booted with isolinux ( http://syslinux.zytor.com/iso.php by H.
     Peter Anvin). isolinux is in use by many major distro vendors to
     create bootable installation media. It seems isolinux is more advanced
     when having multiple boot devices and controllers (RAID) in your i386 and
     x86_64 based machines.

* 20 januari 2004, Release of CRK v.2.4.24-mdk92. crash2424-mdk92.iso is
     based upon the Mandrake 9.2 i586 Linux distribution. The ram filesystem
     for the mdk92 edition is 16 Mb and now needs at least 24Mb ram to boot.
     The Logical Volume Manager (LVM) administration tools and the NTFS driver
     v2.1.6a and ntfsprogs-1.8.4-1 have been added. a small util to
     select your foreign keyboard KEYMAP is added.

* 23 september 2003, Release of CRK v.2.4.21-mdk91. crash2421-mdk91.iso is
     based upon the Mandrake 9.1 i586 Linux distribution. The ram filesystem
     for the mdk91 edition is 16 Mb and now needs at least 24Mb ram to boot.
     In addition the Logical Volume Manager (LVM) administration tools are
     added.

* 15 september 2003, An enhanced version CRK v.2.4.21-rpmrescue is released
     which has a special RPM rescue und recovery util added. Sofar the RedHat
     6.x and RedHat 7.x series have had a static binary for /bin/rpm. RedHat 9
     however has a dynamic shared elf binary for /bin/rpm. This has caused a
     tremendous misgrief amongst users. I created a script install-rpmrescue
     which installs symbolic links so that redhat's rpm can still be run with
     the option --root=/mnt if e.g. the root filesystem is mounted on /mnt.

* 21 july 2003, To be able to resize your NTFS partition on your desktop
     PC or laptop i created a new iso called crash2421-ntfs.iso which is
     also based on RedHat 9. kernel 2.4.21 has been patched to include NTFS
     driver v2.1.4a from http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/.
     ntfsprogs-1.7.1-1 has also been added. These ntfs programs contain
     the tool ntfsresize which performs the Non-destructive Resizing of an
     NTFS Volume. I have tested ntfsresize a couple of times and sofar
     it just has worked ok. a small HOWTO.ntfs has been added.

* 19 june 2003, A new CRK v.2.4.21 based on RedHat 9 is released.
     v.2.4.21 contains the same as v.2.4.20 basicly. The CRK is updated
     to kernel 2.4.21 and has a redhat 9 based runtime. The TLS
     (Thread Local Storage) version of glibc 2.3.2 and its pthread library's
     are inside. Also lspci and hwdata are added to give more info about your
     hardware. see also
     http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/IA64wiki/libc_20tls_20support .

* 3 may 2003, A new CRK v.2.4.20 based on RedHat 8.0 is released. The
     2.4.20 kernel is patched for journal bugs inside the ext3 driver.
     This CRK supports USB2.0 . The speed of USB2.0 is 480 Mbit/sec
     (60 Mbytes/sec) which make USB storage devices very interesting
     backup devices for recovery/rescue purposes.

* 17 november 2002, For older machines like i386, i486 and i586 based
     CPU's (like e.g. P166 MMX or P133) i created a new iso called
     crash2418-i386.iso. This crk uses the glibc libc version 2.2.4
     which also runs on non i686 class CPU's. It solves the error
     described here :
     http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/linux/linux-kernel/2002-01/0067.html

* 17 november 2002, A new CRK v.2.4.19 based on RedHat 8.0 i386 is
     released. Although RedHat 8.0 is clearly a dot-O version, several
     people would like to see this. The same features as on the previous
     2.4.18 release apply on 2.4.19. The differences are that a larger
     ramdisk of 12 Mb now is used.

* 22 september 2002, Created a CRK v.2.2.14 based on RedHat 6.2 Sparc
     edition. This iso can boot on both sparc and sparc64 machines
     using SILO. All platforms should be supported i.e. sun4c, sun4d,
     sun4m, and sun4u. Read the HOWTO.iso for more details.

* 9 september 2002, Created a CRK v.2.4.18 which includes the openssl
     programs which come with redhat 7.3. This CRK can be used as a
     independant crypto speed benchmark test.

* 06 august 2002, Added a http download section.

* 28 april 2002, Re-organized the location of the floppy and iso images.
     Created a new iso for v2.4.18. It fixes problems when using CRK v.2.4.18
     on multi processor machines. For SMP and multi CPU machines the
     smp-fixed iso should be used.

* 15 april 2002, Re-organized the contents of the HOWTO.iso.
     Moved info about creating your own iso to another document
     inside the contrib section.

* 29 march 2002, Release of CRK v2.4.18 based on RedHat 7.2.
     Same setup as v2.4.5 but now with kernel 2.4.18 and runtime
     from redhat 7.2. ext3 is fully supported. kernel is built
     with gcc-2.95.3. HOWTO.iso is expanded, kernel Documentation
     and MAKEDEV package is added on the iso.

* 31 july 2001, Created a Contributed stuff area, which holds
     rather usefull things, where it concerns making your own version
     of a CRK iso and or floppy's.

* 27 june 2001, Release of CRK v2.4.5 based on RedHat 7.1.
     Kernel 2.4.5 is used and almost all hardware and features
     are enabled mostly as modules. This time there are no floppies
     , because the redhat 7.1 glibc-2.2.2 based runtime is too big.
     Also i had to move from 2.88 floppy emulation to hard-disk
     emulation to get the new iso booted. For further details read
     the HOWTO.iso.

* 13 october 2000, Release of CRK v2.2.17 based on RedHat 6.2.
     Kernel 2.2.17 is used and patched for UDMA 66/100 support.
     reiserfs-3.5.26 and pcmcia-cs-3.1.21 are included.

* 28 august 2000, Release of CRK v2.2.16 based on RedHat 6.1.
     also works with redhat 6.2. Kernel 2.2.16 is used and patched
     for Ultra-DMA 66 and 100 support. At request also reiserfs support
     and utils are added.

* 30 july 2000, a mirror site location for the crash iso's has
     been added. Thanks go to Attila Nagy ( Attila.Nagy@fsn.hu ).

* 19 july 2000 , created a bootable iso crash2213.iso

* 17 july 2000 , fixed boot2213.img (faster booting from floppy)

* 26 march 2000 , Release of CRK v2.2.13 based on RedHat 6.1
